I’m a jeans + tee kind of girl – always have been, always will be. I love to throw on a cute dress and heels occasionally, but most days I find myself reaching into my closet for the same pair of Levi’s 501 skinny’s that I’ve been wearing for the past 2 years. My obsession with Levi’s jeans is nothing new here. You guys have heard me talk about my love for them so many times. They are my go-to denim for every occasion and never disappoint. You can imagine my excitement when I found out that my favorite denim brand wanted to partner with me to spread awareness about World Water Day on March 22nd.
What does World Water Day have to do with jeans, you ask?
Typically, those jeans you purchase with the distressing or the unique wash that makes you love them so much, are created using techniques that require TONS of water. Like, actual tons. Levi’s designers set out to find a way to create those same jeans we all love, without wasting so much water in the process. And they succeeded! Their Water<Less™ jeans are produced using up to 96% less water than previously and now over 55% of all Levi’s jeans are made using Water<Less™ practices.
I think it goes without saying why using less water is so important in order for us to continue striving towards a more sustainable planet. Water scarcity is becoming one of the world’s greatest challenges. Not everyone is lucky enough to have clean water to drink and those of us who have had access to it our entire lives tend to take that for granted. It’s important for us all to do our part, no matter how small or large it may be.
Levi’s has saved 172 million liters of water so far using Water<Less™ finishing techniques and this is only the beginning! Can you imagine how much water can be saved if the entire denim industry committed to using less water? That’s exactly why I was so psyched to bring awareness to this topic with the help of one of my ride-or-die brands.
I’m wearing my newest pair of Levi’s in the photos below! I figured it might be time to rotate in another pair or two and give my 2-year-old 501’s a little break. These are the Wedgie Fit in a size 23 (have you heard that they started making a size 23!?). The color is called “these dreams” and everything is linked below!
Thank you to Levi’s for sponsoring today’s post.
